What is CDAC Online Counselling?

After C-CAT ranks are declared, qualified candidates must participate in Online Counselling to submit their prioritized choices of Courses and Training Centres.

C-DAC conducts counselling across multiple allocation stages:

  • First Counselling: Submitting initial preferences for Round 1 and Round 2 allocations.
  • Second Counselling: Held after Round 2 for remaining vacant seats across centres.

Golden Rules of Preference Ordering

ℹ Important Note

The seat allocation algorithm evaluates preferences strictly from **Preference #1 downwards**. You can only be allocated a centre and course combination that you explicitly included in your preference list.

Sample Preference Strategy for PGCP-AC

  1. Preference 1: Sunbeam Institute of Information Technology, Pune (Physical)
  2. Preference 2: C-DAC ACTS, Pune (Physical)
  3. Preference 3: IACSD, Pune (Physical)
  4. Preference 4: C-DAC Bangalore (Physical)
  5. Preference 5: C-DAC Kharghar, Mumbai (Physical)
  6. Preference 6: C-DAC Hyderabad (Physical)

Round 1 Allocation & 1st Installment Fee

When Round 1 allocation results are published:

  1. If Allocated Preference #1: This is your final seat. You must pay the first installment (working reference ₹10,000 + 18% GST = ₹11,800) to confirm admission.
  2. If Allocated a Lower Preference: You have two options after paying the first installment:
  • FREEZE / LOCK: You accept this seat as your final admission choice.
  • FLOAT / UPGRADE: You reserve your allocated seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade to higher preferences in Round 2.

Locking/Freezing vs Automatic Upgrade

  • If you pay the first installment and choose upgrade, you enter the Round 2 pool.
  • If a higher-preferred seat becomes available, your admission is upgraded automatically.
  • If no higher seat opens up, your Round 1 allocated seat remains fully protected.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a lower-preference seat in Round 2 if I don't like my Round 2 allocation?

No. Once a higher-preference seat is allocated in Round 2, your previous lower-preference seat is permanently released and allocated to another candidate.

What happens if I do not pay the first installment after Round 1?

If you fail to pay the first installment before the published deadline, your allocated seat is canceled, and you forfeit eligibility for Round 2 upgrade allocation.
